Became WA4GDB in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1962. I am a Vietnam Veteran, having served with an A-6 Intruder squadron in the USS Kitty Hawk, CV-63. Retired as a Chief Warrant Officer (W-3) in 1980 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I retired from my civilian career in 2005. I am an Amateur Extra, Life Member of ARRL, and member of QCWA. My main volunteer work is as Port Chaplain with Norfolk Seamen's Friend Society serving the merchant ships in Norfolk, Virginia.
My HF operating is primarily CW. My first Ham Radio Cruise was in 2010 with Vernon, W4THN, and I have been very pleased to sail with Debbie and Lance since then.
I am widowed, but am currently dating Ms. Carolyn Hink, KK4NOL, and yes, we met through Amateur Radio!
